2016 Off to a Great Start for Jaguar-Land Rover

We already knew that 2016 was going to be a good year for Jaguar Land Rover.

In April, the much-anticipated Jaguar F-PACE will be launched in the UK and is expected to make it to Canada by mid-year.

New in 2016 for Land Rover? The company launched its first diesel-powered vehicles in Canada for the 2016 model year.

With major new vehicle launches and an eventful 2015 behind it, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) was definitely on a roll coming into the new year.

But then the really good news started coming in. Among other items, JLR has reported the following so far in 2016, and we’re not even through January yet!

Record Sales – 2015 was the most successful year ever for JLR. Delivering almost 500,000 (487,065) new vehicles around the world, JLR enjoyed a 5% increase year-over-year and a doubling of sales since 2009.
In Canada, 2015 Land Rover sales were up over 20% year-to-date in November, making it the fourth-fastest growing automobile brand in the country.

A Great Place to Work – JLR was named “Best Place to Work in Britain” in a survey commissioned by Bloomberg Business News, released on January 13, 2016. The company beat out over 400 others that employ more than 500 people in Britain.
“Over the past five years, we have created more than 20,000 new jobs and are investing significantly in the future of Jaguar Land Rover by recruiting and developing the people that will help ensure our continued success,” said Ian Harnett, executive director of human resources and global purchasing at Jaguar Land Rover.

Recognized for Supporting the Armed Forces – JLR was rewarded for their work with the military in the U.K. when the British Defense Secretary, Michael Fallon, presented the company with a gold award for active support of the armed services.

“We believe that there is a close alignment between our company’s own values and attitudes and the unstoppable persistence of Armed Forces veterans”, said Dr. Ralph Speth, Jaguar Land Rover’s CEO.
